It has not been publically revealed what action was taken by Mad River Glen’s Board in order to block the investor group including Burton bid.
However, this article (on the first page) gives us some clues. Apparently, the Preservation Trust of Vermont is the party that has (or will) take ownership of the single chairlift, blocking the bid by an investor group including Burton to purchase the Mountain.
